Traditional flats fishing utilizing spin/plug gear is truly my expertise, we use only fish artificial lures… absolutely no live bait! I quietly push-pole clients over the pristine shallows of Tampa Bay to stalk “gator” speckled trout, snook, and big redfish in my Hell’s Bay Marquesa offering up numerous opportunities for to catch trophy fish. Some of the very techniques and strategies that you see on the ever popular Flats Class TV show will be employed while enjoying a great day on the water in beautiful Tampa Bay.

I exclusively target the waters between St. Joseph’s Sound (to the North) and Terra Ceia Bay (to the South) and all the waters in between with the city of St. Petersburg, FL being the center of activity. I determine where we will fish based off fish activity primarily and weather conditions secondly; having a trailered skiff allows me to be very mobile and gives my clients a better opportunity to score fish consistently. I provide multiple launch locations on my “Charter Info” page under the menu “ramps”.

My peak seasons for targeting the following species are as follows:

  • “Gator Trout” season gets cranked up from late October to early March
  • “Big Reds” are reliable from late February to late April and again from early September to mid November
  • “Tailing Redfish” can happen anytime but November through February is best.
  • “Backcountry Snook” on the south shore of Tampa Bay, October & November or March & April
  • “Summer Snook” in St. Petersburg, FL , June through August

I do target other species such as flounder, giant black drum, sharks and bonita during certain times of the year but they are fish of opportunity more or less not every day targets.

I provide all licenses, tackle, ice, drinks, and of course plenty of lures provided by my sponsors for a successful day on the water. Flats Class Charters (flats fishing, light tackle or fly) are 6 hours for 1 to 2 anglers at a price of $650 and all Tarpon Fishing Charters are $750 with a $100 deposit required to secure reservation. The deposit is non-refundable if charter is cancelled by client within 72 hours of scheduled trip but I will make every effort to re-schedule your charter at a later date to avoid forfeiting the deposit!

Let’s go fishing!
